Kurzbiographie
Jonathan Thomas has held a doctorate from EHESS (Paris, France) since 2021, and is currently Marie-Sklodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellow. He works on the political uses of sound, and more specifically on recorded sound propaganda. His research led to the publication of a monograph in 2020 ("La propagande par le disque. Jean-Marie Le Pen, éditeur phonographique", Éditions de l'EHESS), several articles in French (Revue d'Histoire Moderne et Contemporaine, Volume !, Transposition) and international (Revista de Historia, Analitica) scientific journals, a database (PS.XX - La propagande sonore enregistrée au XXe siècle), and a dozen podcasts. At the Abteilung für Musikwissenschaft/Sound Studies, he leads the European research project REDIRE (Horizon 2020 - 101105514) on the recorded sound propaganda of the Italian fascist regime (1922-1943).
